Goo Goo Dolls bring much needed rock to Tampa

TAMPA, FL -- Following their current summer tour promoting the upcoming Something For The Rest Of Us album, due out Aug 31st, the Goo Goo Dolls were probably the only highlight last Sunday night. At a venue across from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and surrounded by, lets be honest, practically nothing, many gathered to see the band that has brought hundreds of hits in their 20 plus year career.

Goo Goo Dolls bring the heat to Miami

MIAMI, FL -- "Holy Crap its hot here!" said bassist Robby Takac as the Goo Goo Dolls took the stage last Saturday for what would be the band's first live performance in Miami of the past 10 years. The band played to a sold-out audience during their current summer tour as they prepare to release their ninth studio album, Something For The Rest Of Us out on August 31st.

Cinderella still shakin’ all night long

Weird Al is entertaining, but nothing to write home about

BOCA RATON, FL - I have never been a big Weird Al fan. I have nothing against the guy but he just wasn't a big enough star when I was growing up in Brazil. Sure MTV played some of his videos over there (the only ones I remember are "I'm Fat" and "Smells Like Nirvana) but that was pretty much all I knew about him.

I was recently asked by a friend to critique Alex Band’s new album, “We’ve All Been There.” As I sat down to think about what to write, while listening (it would seem for the thousandth time) to this work of art, the thoughts, feelings, and emotions that the music evoked in me seemed to flow naturally.

When You’re Strange

When You're Strange begins with a man exiting an abandoned car on the side of a highway. He walks down the dirt road in the middle of the desert and stands alone as he tries to hitchhike a ride from a passerby. He embodies the same "California cool" mannerisms Morrison used to have, slithering and swaying the same way the Lizard King did.
