The blood-spitting rock mogul of Kiss, Gene Simmons, has added yet another product to the glam rock band's ever-growing merchandising universe: the "Kiss Kasket." The coffin features the faces of the four founding members of the band, the Kiss logo and the words "Kiss Forever."

Record industry still markets violent material to teens, report says

HOLLYWOOD, CA -- A "parental advisory" sticker may warn parents about an album's violent content, but it is not stopping the record industry from targeting such material at young America, according to the Federal Trade Commission. The FTC will send out a "snapshot" report Tuesday which will provide a preliminary review of the marketing practices of the film, movie and recording industries, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Punk rocker Ramone dies

HOLLYWOOD, CA -- The Ramones, one of the bands from the original New York City punk scene in the mid-1970s, lost frontman Joey Ramone to lymphatic cancer on Sunday. He was 49. "Our beloved Joey Ramone passed away this afternoon at 2:40 p.m. (EDT) in a hospital in New York City where he was being treated for cancer," the official Ramones Web site said.

HOLLYWOOD, CA -- Hip-hop artists seem to spend more time these days in courts than in the recording studios. It's almost as if rappers, in particular, have jumped from the Billboard charts to the most-wanted lists. Jay-Z was arrested early Friday, outside a Manhattan nightclub, on a charge of illegal gun possession. He also is scheduled to appear in court on Monday on charges that he allegedly stabbed a music industry executive in December 1999.
