Getty Images, a leading distributor film footage and stock photo images, is launching Premium Playlist, a one-stop online service for film makers, advertising agencies and others looking to license music.
Premium Playlist already includes 1,000 songs, from such artists at Barenaked Ladies, Smash Mouth and Norah Jones through deals done with Warner/Chappell Music, Koch Records, Cherry Lane, Kobalt Music Group, Red Light Management Lionsgate and Nettwerk.
According to Billboard Biz, the company plans to increase their content by attaining non-exclusive deals with other majors and independent record labels and music publishers.
“We have seen significant growth and success in our Getty Images music product and our Pump Audio Collection,” Getty Images VP of multimedia product Craig Peters, told Billboard Biz. “Representing music content through Premium Playlist is the next step and a natural fit for our business model.”
