Axl Rose Grants Best Buy Exclusive Rights to Chinese Democracy

LOS ANGELES, CA — Apparently, cell phone manufacturers aren’t the only entities cutting exclusivity deals with carriers. Axl Rose and his latest incarnation of Guns n’ Roses have granted mega-chain Best Buy the exclusive rights to distribute Chinese Democracy when the long-anticipated album is released. Although no release date has been solidified yet, other details of this agreement are still on the bargaining table.

The undetermined release date comes as no surprise, considering that Chinese Democracy has been in the works for over ten years. In effect, the album straddles the line of legendary Holy Grail for rock fans and a long-standing punch line.

In August, several tracks off of Chinese Democracy were leaked to the fans by a 27-year-old man, Kevin Cogil, who was later arrested for violating copyright laws. One of these leaked tracks, “If the World”, is rumored to appear in the upcoming film, Body of Lies, with Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe.

Very little is known about Chinese Democracy except that it features appearances by Dave Navarro and Brian May of Queen. Former Skid Row singer, Sebatian Bach, also appears on the disc, returning the favor for Axl’s guest spot on Bach’s latest album, Angel Down.
