Motley Crue weekend in Vegas

LAS VEGAS, NV —  If they say whatever happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas has any truth to it, then this is a weekend to remember. After a long drive through the desert, on our way to see Motley Crue’s weekend of decadence in Las Vegas, my friend and I decide to stop at the Mad Greek restaurant to get some food. We ran into Travis Barker from Blink 182 and talk to him for a few minutes. We told him we’re on our way to Vegas to see Motley and he’s telling us how he hasnt seen them since they reunited in December, but he heard they put on a good show and told us to have fun.

The weekend had already started on a good note, and we knew it would only get better from here.

We get to the Hard Rock Hotel and check in at around 3pm. We go upstairs and get showered and dressed so that we can go to the show, to which the doors opened at 7 and show was at 8 p.m.

We decide to go to the bar and get a drink only to realize its $20 and all we had asked for was a Cranberry and Vodka and a Red Bull and Vodka. Wow, crazy! Instead, so we went to gamble at the slot machines because we figured we can drink for free. We’re walking around and Donna D’Errico [Nikki Sixx's wife] is walking by with Tommy’s assistant. Shortly after, we decide to check the line to the show only to realize its going around the casino, so we decide to wait in line, where we saw [Jackass'] Johnny Knoxville. Once the doors opened we were pretty good about making it to about the 5th row, right in front of Nikki.

The show started on a good note, Nikki had full-on war paint, Vince seemed to be in a good mood and Tommy was hyper, saying “woooooooop wooooooop” over and over again – which seems to be his new “word” now. As they start doing “Primal Scream,” Vince’s mic starts going on and off and he starts getting pissy. He throws his mic across the stage and walks off. Nikki and Tommy keep playing only for Nikki to look sidestage and raise his hands in the air wondering what’s going on and stops the song. Nikki looks pissed but he goes onstage and tells people that they are having some technical difficulties because when you play at places like these sometimes you have to use the venue’s equipment which wasnt working properly and for us to go to the bar and get a drink and they’d be on in five minutes. They are all walking around the stage when Vince comes back and starts doing the song again. Tommy did the titty cam and then they started doing “Home Sweet Home” only for Vince’s mic to start failing again. Vince shakes his head and walks over to Nikki’s mic and starts singing the song until the end of it. As soon as the song ends, Vince storms out of the stage again and Tommy goes to the front and starts talking to the audience, asking how we’re doing and how much he loves Vegas. Then he asks “Can you guys hear me okay? I mean really can y’all hear me?” and my friend looks at me and she’s like “this isnt good Erika” and Tommy starts telling the ladies how about how he should do a dick cam. All the girls start screaming. He walks towards the stage to get the camera only for him not to come back. The courtains go down and the lights come on and an announcer tells us that they are sorry to say that due to technical difficulties they have to end the show. All this happened an hour into the show…bummer!!!! Lisa looks at me and is like “Lets get the hell outta here now” so we walk out and everyone is pissed and leaving.

The next day, Sunday’s show, we hung out around the casino and made it back to the venue [The Joint] for what would be the last night of the tour. We made it to the 3rd row in front of Nikki. Everyone that had heard about what happened the night before, kept their fingers crossed hoping that the band would make up for it this time around. The show began and they looked amazing and sounded GREAT. Vince was in really good mood too which was comforting.

The show was amazing for a whole TWO hours! At the end of the show, Nikki throws some pics and they all say thank you and goodbye and as soon as the lights go on, I see Lisa on the floor and she got TWO pics. She was nice enough to hand me one for my collection.

After the show we see there’s a huge line to get into Body English so we get in since we are on the guest list. We made it through the VIP area only to find out that Tommy is dj’ing all night, along side with celebrity dj DJ AM. They were even DJying to Motley and Tommy kept dancing all over and going “Woooooop wwwwwwoooooop!” over and over again LOL Now everytime I hear J-Kwon’s song “Tipsy” I am gonna think of Tommy and us dancing to that song.

It was definitely one of the best rock n’ roll weekends I have ever had.
